Boeing presents the annual award to felicitate suppliers who have delivered superior performance. General Plastics has achieved a Silver composite performance rating for delivery and quality every month for the performance period between October 1, 2010 and September 30, 2011.

In 2011, Boeing felicitated its 529 suppliers who received either a Silver or Gold level Boeing Performance Excellence Award. General Plastics is one among the 407 suppliers who achieved the Boeing Performance Excellence Award.

General Plastics offers cabin interior and flight deck parts to Boeing for its all aircraft models, including 787, 777, 767, 747 and 737. The company manufactures flame-resistant, high-strength and lightweight composite core materials as well as ‘edge close-out’ for honeycomb structures. These materials are utilized in Boeing’s passenger compartment overhead stow bins, passenger cabin ceilings and walls, aircraft flight deck pads, food-service galleys, service-class divider partitions and lavatories. General Plastics also supplies acrylic and polycarbonate sheets for Boeing’s wingtip-lens transparencies and aircraft passenger windowpanes.

According to Bruce Lind, General Plastics’ President, this award recognition shows the company’s commitment towards its relationship with Boeing even after five decades. General Plastics delivers its products through a well-established network of suppliers to over 10 nations for marine, testing, construction, wind and solar energy, composite core, nuclear containment, defense and aerospace industries. The company produces its products in compliance with ISO 9001:2008/AS9100C and other quality systems such as Boeing Company D6-82479, Mil-I-45208A and NQA-1.
