Oxea has laid the foundation for a new production unit, Carboxylic Acid Plant 3. The company has planned to complete the plant within this year in record time. Oxea’s new plant will enhance the global production potential of carboxylic acid by around 40%. This will positively impact the job situation.
The predominant driver for this growth is the increasing demand for synthetic fatty acids worldwide. This forms the base for producing energy-efficient lubricant esters for eco-friendly refrigeration units like refrigerators, air conditioners or phthalate-free plasticizers.
Miguel Mantas, Oxea’s Executive Board Member, stated that the company is the main manufacturer of carboxylic acids. Oxea has a major production potential and an extensive product portfolio for synthetic carboxylic acids. This new production unit will enhance the company’s potential and will significantly increase the company’s supply potential, enhance the flexibility and improve the company’s capability to help in the development of the customers.
Dr. Martina Flöel, Oxea’s Executive Board spokesperson stated that based on its hydroformylation techniques the company has incorporated backward integration for the carboxylic acid value chains. The precursors are produced and supplied to the acid production units by the company. The new production unit for carboxylic acid is essential for the extension of the company in oxo derivatives and growth markets.
