Crown Holdings, a distributor of packaging products to the consumer marketing companies across the globe, has declared the plan to construct a new two-piece beverage can facility in Nanning, which is the capital of Guangxi Province in South China.
The strategic location of this prefectural city borders Guangdong towards the East and Yunnan towards the West.
The company is expecting to operate this new beverage can plant by the end of the third quarter of 2013. Initially, this new facility has a production potential of 750 M two-piece 33 cl aluminum beverage cans, annually. In addition, this new plant will have the capacity of manufacturing 50 cl beverage cans.
According to CROWN Asia-Pacific’s President, Jozef Salaerts, the company is seeing an increase in the shift to metal packaging, as the brand proprietors look for extending the reach of local products around various provinces. Addition of this new Chinese plant will efficiently extend the geographic footprint and permit to help the clients.
Currently, the company has five beverage can facilities that are functioning in China. Crown’s production is expected to commence in Heshan of Guangdong Province, Putian of Fujian Province and Ziyang of Sichuan Province during 2012. The company will start production at the plants located in XinXiang of Henan Province, Changchun of Jilin Province and Nanning by the mid of 2013 and establish around eleven plants in China.
