The Pittcon Organizing Committee is pleased to announce its annual Conference and Exposition, the world's largest for laboratory science, will be held March 11-15, 2012, in Orlando, home to growing Medical City at Lake Nona, at Orange County Convention Center.
Pittcon 2012 will offer a diverse technical program of more than 2,000 presentations and more than 90 short courses to enhance attendees' educational experience. The EXPO offers the latest technology and instrumentation from more than 940 exhibitors and networking sessions that provide a chance to exchange innovative ideas with scientists from around the world.
Presenters include 2,000 scientists, researchers and professionals who will introduce their world-renowned research in the areas of life sciences, drug discovery, nanotechnology, biomedical, environmental, homeland security, food science, forensics, agriculture, analytical chemistry, biomass and more.
New for this year is a Capstone Lecture, "Redesigning DNA: Fixing God's Mistakes," which will be presented by Steven A. Brenner. Brenner is a Distinguished Fellow at the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution (Gainesville, Fla.), which he founded following service on faculty at Harvard University, ETH Zurich and University of Florida.
This year, more than 30 Florida-based companies will be exhibiting and more than 72 select members of Florida's scientific community will be making presentations and instructing short courses, including scientists and professionals from Florida's top universities and scientific companies.
