POSCO, a multinational steel producer headquartered in Pohang, South Korea, has honored ThyssenKrupp Uhde, a division of ThyssenKrupp Group, with the 'Supplier of the Year' award. ThyssenKrup Uhde has received the title for the second time.
The company has been awarded for successful delivery and commissioning of a new coke oven facility in Gwangyang, South Korea. The plant is equipped with advanced technology to meet the requirements of the South Korean market in terms of cost efficiency, environmental compatibility and quality. The Gwangyang coke oven plant has a capacity to produce 2.8 million tones of coke per year. The member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Uhde, Alfred Hoffmann, remarked that the award is of great importance to the company and it proves that their products with high quality are recognized.
For more than 20 years, POSCO and ThyssenKrupp Uhde have continued their partnership and have carried out several projects. ThyssenKrupp Uhde has constructed the coke oven facilities for POSCO in Gwangyang and Pohang, South Korea. The company mainly focuses on construction of chemical plants and other industrial plants in various fields, including polymers and synthetic fibres, organic intermediates, refining technologies, coal and oil.
