Hiball Energy has announced a partnership with a large beverage can company, Ball, to introduce organic energy drinks and reformulated sparkling energy waters, which were packaged in its lightweight, cold-activated aluminum cans.
Ball will showcase these aluminum beverage cans at the Natural Products Expo West in California.
Todd Berardi, Hiball’s President and Founder stated that the company has changed the size from 10 oz glass bottles to 16 oz aluminum cans based on the specifications of the consumer, who required a larger size with an option of portable packaging. Finally, the customers of the company obtained 60% more volume, 30% less cost per ounce and 100% more energy. All these were packaged in more portable, lighter and 100% recyclable aluminum beverage cans.
These new aluminum cans have featured cold activation graphics, with the help of Chromatic Technologies’ thermochromic ink (CTI). The color of the bubbles on the aluminum can graphics changes from white to blue, when the cans’ temperature reaches 45° F/8 C. This shows that the beverage inside the can is at the most favorable temperature for drinking.
Rob Miles, Senior VP for sales for Ball's metal beverage packaging division in Americas commented that the aluminum beverage cans are packaging solution for organic sparkling energy drinks and sparkling energy water. The can’s portability and durability together with the 100% endless recyclability have solidified these cans as an appropriate eco-friendly container for water and energy drinks.
The aluminum cans from Ball are lightweight and has an average of 68% recycled aluminum. Cans are free from oxygen and are airtight and also cool down quicker than any other beverage container. It is more compact, as it requires less space than a bottle.
