Advion, a developer and provider of a wide range of mission critical systems and consumables for life science research, has launched the expression compact mass spectrometer (CMS) at Pittcon 2012 conference, held in Orlando, Florida.
The system has been designed for research and development in the synthetic organic chemistry market. The expression personal single quadrupole mass spectrometer is very compact, which allows the chemists to operate the system in space-restricted labs and fume hoods. In addition, the equipment enables the chemists to discover, monitor and verify compounds quickly, when they are produced in the reactor. It also allows fast compound verification in normal phase purification fractions.
Usually, chemists start a multi-hour reaction and they periodically extract samples to analyze in an open access mass spectrometry laboratory. This analysis takes several hours to get completed, which leads to a decrease in the value of the information and workflow inefficiencies. Another drawback of the remote analysis is that a large amount of normal phase purification fractions are produced, which further slows down significant feedback. The expression compact mass spectrometer from Advion overcomes these issues. The system integrates an intuitive software package, critical design features and a small footprint. The expression CMS is now ready for shipment.
