Teijin Fibers, a company of Teijin Group, has revealed that Srixon manufactures its new Pro Tour golf gloves called Srixon GGG-S005 using Teijin Fibers’ Nanofront high-strength polyester nanofiber.
SRI Sports, a Japanese sport equipment manufacturer, produces the Srixon GGG-S005 gloves and markets them in golf shops across the country. The company has signed endorsement deals with several top golfers, including Sakura Yokomine. They will use the gloves this season.
The Srixon GGG-S005 gloves offer remarkable grip performance enabled by Nanofront’s soft texture and superior frictional properties. The high-strength polyester nanofiber also provides high moisture diffusion and absorption for improved comfort, making the fiber a suitable material for golf gloves.
The thickness of Nanofront is merely 700 nm or 7,500 folds thinner than a human hair’s cross section. Nano-sized bumps on Nanofront’s surface increase frictional force and generate a surface area several folds larger than that of a normal fiber, thus delivering better slip resistance.
The Nanofront high-strength polyester nanofiber finds use in a broad array of industrial and clothing applications, including filters, abrasive cloths, skin care products, golf gloves, sportswear and innerwear. Recently, Teijin introduced Nanofront’s finer version with 400 nm fiber diameter, which is considered as an unmatched accomplishment for a commercial grade polyester fiber. The finer version can be used for a wide variety of applications such as high-performance air filters.
