Siemens Metals Technologies has acquired the engineering company FCE, LLC, headquartered in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, USA.
"With FCE we close our portfolio gap of industrial furnaces within processing lines to secure the competitiveness of our strip processing technology", stated Werner Auer, CEO of Siemens Metals Technologies. Financial details of the transaction will not be disclosed.
Founded in 2003, FCE provides core sales, engineering, equipment supply and project management expertise in strip and plate heat treating furnaces. FCE furnace product lines includes Drever Company technology and references for continuous strip galvanizing and annealing, and plate quench and temper lines. The F&D Furnaces product lines, of the company, include quench & temper furnaces for API pipe and tube for the fast growing global energy markets as well as specialized heating furnaces for bar, plate and billets, large stress relieving furnaces, and motor lamination lines.
"We are now a full line provider for processing lines with a portfolio that also includes carbon and stainless annealing furnaces", Auer said. FCE will become the global center of competence for reheating furnaces within Siemens Metals Technologies. The company will continue to operate from its Pennsylvania location with around 20 employees who will be all integrated into the Siemens business structure.
