ProTec Polymer Processing GmbH has begun business operations at its Bensheim Headquarters.
This signalled the final step in the previously announced fusion of MANN+HUMMEL ProTec GmbH, Bensheim, a MANN+HUMMEL Group company, and OHL Engineering GmbH, Limburg, a company of the globally operating Schoeller Plast Industries (www.schoeller-plast.com). The headquarters of the new company will remain in the previous location of ProTec in Bensheim. The company's Managing Directors are Alfred Kimpel, previous Managing Director of MANN+HUMMEL ProTec, and Arnold Jahn, Managing Director of Schoeller Plast Industries, Pullach near Munich. ProTec Polymer Processing combines the internationally renowned brands SOMOS, comprehensive system solutions for the efficient material handling of all plastic processing methods used today, and OHL, systems for the post-condensation of solid matter and for the drying of plastics as well as turnkey systems for the bottle-to-bottle recycling of PET. This fusion strengthens the previous activities of both companies and, at the same time, creates the basis for a future expansion of the business activities.
"Our SOMOS systems and services in regard to drying, conveying, and dosing of loose material in the plastics industry will of course remain a focus of our business activities, as will the OHL complete systems for plastics handling and recycling. With SOMOS material-handling expertise and the plastics process experience of OHL, we can offer our customers significantly more know-how and equipment technology for the optimization of the material characteristics of PET," says Alfred Kimpel. "Through inclusion in the global Schoeller Group network, we will, moreover, improve and expand the level of customer service at an international level, especially in the Asian-Pacific economic region," adds Arnold Jahn.
The Bensheim location offers good conditions for the further development and will serve as the new company's headquarters. The previous seat of OHL Engineering in Limburg will remain as a satellite office.
Within the group of companies of Schoeller Plast Industries, ProTec Polymer Processing operates in a commercially independent manner. The group of companies - with manufacturing locations in Germany, Denmark, and Brazil as well as sales offices and representations in, among other locations, China, Russia and Spain - is a worldwide recognized partner to industry through its reusable packaging systems, sealing caps for beverage bottles, the processing and recycling of plastics, and now with equipment and systems for material handling in the plastics industry. Schoeller Plast Industries is integrated in Schoeller Industries (www.schoeller.org), Pullach, which also includes Schoeller Renewables and the globally operating packaging specialist Schoeller Arca Systems. The company has over 1,700 employees worldwide.
