Corning’s Gorilla Glass to be Featured at InfoComm 2012

Corning has announced that the company will highlight its Corning Gorilla Glass at InfoComm 2012 in Las Vegas, which will be held from 9 to 15 June, 2012.

This new glass product can be used for large-size displays, especially for digital signage and advanced multi-touch products.

Perceptive Pixel will partner with Corning to exhibit its 55-inch advanced multi-touch LCD display that features Corning Gorilla Glass. Perceptive has recently introduced its 55-inch projected capacitive flat-panel LCD display featuring Corning Gorilla Glass on June 6. Infinite number of touch points can be handled by the display, which works along with three active styluses. Optical bonding is done in this display unit for near-zero parallax, and it eliminates the air gap, which causes incorrect touches on other displays.

Additionally, newest display products from Perceptive Pixel will be showcased in order to demonstrate Corning Gorilla Glass at InfoComm 2012.

Corning along with its partner, Chilin Solutions, will feature a 55-inch Professional Grade LED Edge-Lit LCD outdoor monitor and a 70-inch display that features Corning Gorilla Glass at the show.

These digital signage and advanced multi-touch solutions are ideal for the public display market. NPD DisplaySearch has planned for a continuous increase in large-size display production specifically for use in forecast report and FPD public display shipment. Public displays shipment, including digital signage, may achieve 3.1 million units during 2012, which was up 15% in 2011.

More than 33 brands of Corning Gorilla Glass are currently available and this new glass is specifically engineered into more than 750 product models.
