Linde Expands to Supply Ultra-High Purity Gases to Pacific NW Semicon Manufacturer

Linde North America, a member of the Linde group, has announced that an additional facility is currently under construction in order to provide ultra-high purity (UHP) gases to one of the semiconductor makers, situated in the Pacific Northwest.

The expansion of the company’s facility will be carried out in Hillsboro, Oregon and can potentially manufacture ultra-high purity oxygen and nitrogen. Linde will use the pipeline to deliver these products to the customer. Two previous ultra-high purity gas facilities are already operating at the company’s location. All bulk electronic gases like argon, helium and hydrogen will be provided to the customer across North America.

Linde Electronics and Specialty Gases’ VP of Bulk Electronic Gases and Onsites, Mark Quinn, stated that the company is happy to satisfy the customer’s high-purity gas demands, with the addition of new facility. The company’s employees and facilities in Hillsboro are considered to be the world class experts who can recognize the demands of the semiconductor customers. This facility extension is a proof to the company’s commitment towards the customer success and towards the Pacific Northwest, Quinn stated.

Electronics and Specialty Gases’ General Manager and Vice President, Cliff Caldwell commented that the spectra high-purity nitrogen facilities of Linde are specifically designed in such a way as to supply the highest purity oxygen and nitrogen at low cost. These plants are engineered to manufacture gases in high volume with unusual power efficiencies and with less than 1 ppb impurities. The company’s supply plan will help high-volume semiconductor manufacturing location and the most superior technology. Linde is delighted about the effort given by the team in making this design solution for customers, according to Caldwell.

Since the early 1990s, the company has been providing high-purity gaseous to many solar and semiconductor producers in Hillsboro.
