North West based ANH Refractories has appointed a new international manager to drive sales across Europe and the Middle East.
Tom Gencarelli has been promoted to the Wirral operation from ANH's Pittsburgh division in the USA. His role as international market development manager will see him launching a new campaign targeting the petrochemical market across the Gulf States.
The firm, which has a global turnover of $550, manufactures materials used in linings for furnaces, kilns, incinerators and reactors operating at high temperatures. It provides refractory solutions to many industries including aluminium, oil, petrochemical, cement and glass.
Mr Gencarelli, who joined ANH as a graduate in 2006, said: "My new role at ANH Refractories Europe represents a huge opportunity both personally and professionally. ANH has a dynamic team with big aspirations and a global focus. My role, while largely fixed on the Middle East where our sales doubled in the last year driven by strong demand in Saudi Arabia, includes every global market bar the Americas. This represents a hugely exciting challenge for me. Looking forward we are actively targeting markets in Israel, Kuwait and the UAE where we are already expanding our sales."
ANH Refractories Europe recently signed a new deal to supply products to the Middle East through long-term partner BFIM (Binzagr Factory for Insulation Materials), based in Saudi Arabia. As part of the deal major contracts were secured with customers including petrochemical giant Sabic.
Mr Gencarelli said ANH has a number of key products designed specifically for the petrochemical industry. These include Korundal XD, a premium refractory brick capable of handling substantial loads at high temperatures. "ANH is looking to drive sales of this product in the Middle East," he said. "We see great potential in this market due to high demand and the quality of the Korundal XD product."
ANH Refractories Europe managing director Peter Rooney said: "We are delighted to welcome Tom to the team. His drive and technical expertise will be a huge asset to us. Petrochemical is a huge growth market for us. There is great potential for us to increase sales in the sector, particularly in the Middle East markets. We look forward to working with Tom whose sales, marketing and refractory experience will extend the reach of the business."
