Preferred Compounding, a supplier of proprietary and custom mixed rubber compounds to mixers, extruders, molders and others in the rubber goods market, announced that it has acquired JevsaMex, a compounding operation in San Luis Potosi, central Mexico.
JevsaMex is owned by Iacp Jevsa, based in Barcelona, Spain. The 66,000-square foot plant is now being operated by Preferred Compounding de Mexico which is also catering to JevsaMex's former customers in Mexico. The acquisition represents Preferred Compounding’s commitment to expand in the southern region.
Ken Bloom, CEO of Preferred Compounding, stated that for several years, their US-based clients wanted the company to fulfill their needs for high-quality custom compound solutions in Mexico. The purchase of the established mixing operation, which is located centrally between Mexico, Monterrey and Guadalajara, offers an exceptional platform to meet the clients’ requirement, said Bloom. The company is anticipating to integrate the San Luis Potosi operation into its capabilities.
Lieberman, General Manager of Preferred Compounding de Mexico and VP of strategic initiatives, Preferred Compounding remarked that they are now manufacturing compounds in the acquired facility and focusing on business expansion in Mexico at a steady pace. Lieberman added that they will be a full-service, high value-added custom compounder for the Mexican companies using elastomers and rubber.
