NXP Semiconductors, a provider of high performance mixed signal solutions for mobile, computing, wireless infrastructure, identification, automotive, industrial and lighting applications, has announced that it has expanded its transistor portfolio in the ultra-small discrete flat no-leads package DFN1006.
NXP states that it has the broadest portfolio in the industry for the smallest transistor package – the DFN1006. The DFN SMD package of size 1x 0.6 x 0.37 mm consists of 12 small-signal single N- and P-channel Trench MOSFETs and 60 bipolar transistors (BJT).
NXP’s new expanded portfolio covers various types of switching and general purpose transistors such as the PMBT3904, PMBT3906, BC847 and BC857. The portfolio offers 42 resistor equipped transistors that can be used for various combinations of standard resistors.
For mobile applications, the company offers MOSFETs and BJTs that extend battery life due to low consumption of power. The PMZB290UN MOSFETs of 20-60 V reduce conduction losses due to low on-resistance of 250 mW. NXP’s PBSS2515MB low saturation voltage transistor feature a very low 150 mV saturation voltage and can handle maximum currents of 1 A.
These small products can be used for smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, eReaders, LED TVs and in automobile dashboards for power switching and conversion functionalities.
The products in the DFN1006B-3 portfolio can be used as replacement for SOT23, SOT323 or SOT416 packages which are larger in size. They offer the same thermal and electrical performance with a comparatively smaller footprint and height.
