Entropy Solutions, a company that leverages renewable technology to develop bio-based solutions for numerous industries, has launched additional phase change material (PCM) formulations in its PureTemp line of solutions.
The new bio-based formulations specifically cater to the temperature sensitive needs of domestic and international shipping companies dealing with the transportation of pharmaceuticals, food and medical devices. Entropy is collaborating with companies to incorporate its PureTemp technology to ensure that the thermal energy during transportation of products used in textiles, food, medical, automotive, building and construction and refrigeration is trapped, retained and released at definite and critical temperatures.
ThermoSafe, the company that provides temperature packaging solutions for life science products, uses the PureTemp heat storage technology from Entropy Solutions to meet the specific temperature needs of customers in shipping their products. The PureTemp20 is an illustration of how ThermoSafe and Entropy met the demanding temperature conditions required to transport genetically modified DNA for a company that specializes in cancer treatment. The PureTemp technology not only facilitates lighter and smaller shipping containers but also paves way for cost savings. PureTemp technology applications can extend beyond shipping of medical and food products. Entropy is on the verge of completing the development of transportation blankets incorporating PureTemp15 technology in which thermal protection is provided without using temperature controlled vehicles. This kind of temperature protection will enable the transport of wine during extreme winter and summer. Wine is usually not transported during these seasons owing to the inability to control the temperature of the product. Entropy is also partnering with a major transporter of produce to design a product to lengthen the shelf life of produce by bringing down the temperature immediately after harvest.
