LyondellBasell, the plastics, chemical and refining company, has launched a new range of fifth-generation non-phthalate catalysts that will be used for polypropylene (PP) production.
The new family of catalysts will be marketed under the umbrella of the existing trade name, Avant. These new catalysts will complement LyondellBasell’s existing range of Ziegler-Natta PP catalysts.
According to Jim Seward, the Director of Catalyst and Licensing Business, LyondellBasell has a strong position in the market with its fifth-generation catalyst technology. The new catalysts range will expand the company’s offerings in the field, and is a move towards the targeted development of the entire range of PP products. These catalysts align with the market’s ongoing interest in fifth-generation diether and succinate catalysts.
