A Molykote® expert who specializes in Smart Lubrication™ solutions from Dow Corning will present two technical papers during an upcoming international gathering of tribology experts and mechanical engineers.
Chad Chichester, Dow Corning Application Engineering and Technical Service (AETS), will deliver the presentations during the American Society of Mechanical Engineers/Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers International Joint Tribology Conference (IJTC), scheduled for Oct. 7 through 10 at the Westin Denver Downtown in Denver, Colo.
Chichester’s presentation topics will include:
- “Improved Reliability and Maintainability of Wind Machines Through Proper Lubrication” as part of the conference’s Wind Turbine Tribology track. The presentation is based on a paper Chichester coauthored with colleagues Roman Vanecek and Manfred Jungk of Dow Corning GmbH in Wiesbaden, Germany.
- “Not All Silicone Fluids Are Created Equally” as part of the Boundary and Thin Film Lubrication track. The presentation is based on a paper Chichester coauthored with colleagues Andreas Stammer of Dow Corning Europe S.A. in Seneffe, Belgium, and Herbert Stoegbauer of Dow Corning GmbH in Wiesbaden, Germany.
According to Chichester, IJTC is an important forum for sharing expertise and products related to tribology.
“IJTC is an internationally relevant event that allows us to highlight the importance of lubrication knowledge in the areas of maintenance and equipment design,” Chichester said. “The conference is a natural fit with the way we help our customers address their most significant on-the-job challenges. From improving reliability and productivity to reducing energy waste and extending equipment life, choosing the right lubrication solution can make a significant difference.”
A graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, Chichester is certified by the National Vibration Institute as a Level III Vibration Analyst; he also is certified in Infrared Thermography and is a Certified Lubrication Specialist. Chichester is a member of the National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI), where he serves as the Application and Maintenance Training Course chair and is charged with instruction responsibilities for the NLGI Maintenance and Basic Grease courses. He also is chairman of the Condition Monitoring Committee of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE).
