Nippon Paper Group Develops Soil Roadbed Material Made of Paper Sludge Ash

The Nippon Paper Group announced on July 5 that it has developed a basic technique to produce a material for soil amendment and road pavement using paper sludge ash.

Paper sludge ash, a by-product of paper making, is currently used as a raw cement material.

Scheduled on July 7, the Nippon Paper Group, collaborating with Kajima Road, will demonstrate an experiment, in which the two companies will surface a road with the new material.
