Polymer Analysis Event Launched By Element

Element Materials Technology announces the launch of Polymer Analysis: Theory and Practice, to be held on February 12th 2013 at the Sheraton Detroit Novi Hotel, Novi, Michigan.

The full day seminar, which is free to all delegates, is the first in a series of Engaged Expert events from Element designed to provide a deeper insight into the materials testing industry. Participants will learn about best practice and have the opportunity to network with the company’s resident experts and other trade professionals.

An introduction to polymer science and engineering, including processing methods, applied concepts of corrosion and reliability under service conditions will feature in the day’s technical program.

The agenda also includes an overview of the most common analytical and mechanical test methods used in plastics failure investigation and an introduction to failure analysis, including an exploration of the precautions that may prevent failures.

The seminar will conclude with case studies taken from the industry, detailing examples of the lifetime prediction of a plastic component, improper materials selection and the failure analysis of a polymeric component.

Element’s Director of Global Marketing, Rob Fearn, says: “This symposium will share commercially relevant information with technical and non-technical participants, and the depth of knowledge contained in the program will appeal to quality managers, engineers, operations managers, plant managers, attorneys, manufacturers and designers.

“The Engaged Experts events are designed to be catalysts for sharing industry knowledge, which is why we are offering delegates the chance to meet face-to-face with some of the leading minds in polymer analysis. We are very much looking forward to hosting the day.”

Charles Noall, President and CEO of Element, comments: “Element has a wealth of experience in achieving technical, operational and service delivery excellence throughout the materials testing industry. With the Engaged Experts program, it is our intention to convey this best practice to a wider audience through direct contact with our key specialists, who are responsible for delivering the necessarily high level of quality expected by our clients.”
