The Shimadzu University recently held a series of complimentary ‘Sharing best practice’ events at the company’s Centre of Excellence in Milton Keynes. These were open to any Shimadzu customers interested in learning more about how to get the most reliable results from their methods.
Six events were held over six days, with 178 attendees from a range of areas, including hospitals, pharmaceuticals, public sector and private industry. The event programmes covered how to apply best practice in LC/LCMS, GC/GCMS and Spectroscopy. Participants engaged in hands-on practical exercises, workshops and question and answer sessions with experts.
Feedback from attendees indicated that information from the presentations and practices went a long way to assisting them in their day to day work, giving them a clearer understanding of the basics of the techniques they are using. According to one participant, “The course allowed us to gain a better understanding of the best practices used when setting up our instrumentation. The lectures were fantastic – good content and well presented. During our time at Shimadzu we were able to meet new contacts who are working in a similar environment.”
“We are very pleased with the success of the events” said Darin Enefer, Sales & Marketing Director at Shimadzu UK. “As part of Shimadzu’s Excellence in Science philosophy we feel it is vital to implement best practice throughout in order to produce the most reliable, accurate results possible. It is our hope that courses such as ‘Sharing Best Practice’ will help support people in getting the most from their research.”
