Canadian Institute of Mining Releases Draft for Diamond Exploration Reporting

The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum has released a draft set of guidelines for the best practices in Diamond Exploration Reporting. The guidelines are available for public comment and pertain to public companies, consultants, etc. for the reporting of exploration results.

The guidelines address the reporting of results from exploration activities. These include investigations to determine tonnages, grades and estimated values. They do not however address early stage investigation factors such as geophysical, geochemical or kimberlite indicator mineral results.

The guidelines have been drafted so that those organisations reporting exploration data do it in a uniform, consistent, comprehensive and unambiguous manner.

It should be noted that this set of guidelines do not in any way replace any jurisdictional reporting requirements.
