Anglo Platinum Buy 17.5% Stake in Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells

Johnson Matthey and Anglo Platinum have been collaborating to develop fuel cell technology since having signed an agreement in 1993.

Under a new agreement between Anglo Platinum and Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells, Anglo Platinum have agreed to contribute their intellectual property, know-how and £20 million for a 17.5% stake in Johnson Matthey Fuel cells.

Johnson Matthey will continue to develop, manufacture and market fuel cell components such as membrane electrode assemblies, fuel processors and fuel cell catalysts.

The agreement firms up Anglo Platinum’s commitment to fuel cell development, and ensures they are well placed as a supplier when the technology is commercialised.
