NIMS Releases Structural Materials Data Sheet Technical Document No. 19

NIMS issued "NIMS Structural Materials Data Sheet Technical Document No. 19, Ultrasonic Fatigue Properties of High Strength Materials," dated March 31, 2013, as part of efforts to improve the intellectual infrastructure under its Five-year Mid-Term Plan.

Abstract
The National Institute for Materials Science (President: Sukekatsu Ushioda), as part of efforts to improve the intellectual infrastructure under its Five-year Mid-Term Plan, issued the following NIMS Data Sheet dated March 31, 2013.

"NIMS Structural Materials Data Sheet Technical Document No. 19, Ultrasonic Fatigue Properties of High Strength Materials"

Based on data published in Fatigue Data Sheets Nos. 85, 87, 92, and 93, the recently-issued NIMS Data Sheet Technical Document describes the gigacycle fatigue properties of spring steel SUP7 and Ti-4Al-4V alloy (900MPa class), and the effectiveness of ultrasonic fatigue testing for evaluation of those gigacycle fatigue properties.
