With Dow Corning® US-CF 2403 Resin, manufacturers can create paints and coatings offering high heat resistance, high hardness and stain resistance.
As a methyl methoxy silicone, Dow Corning US-CF 2403 Resin offers an isocyanate-free, room temperature cure without the addition of tin. The resin’s methyl groups provide low surface tension, allowing good wetting properties on a wide range of substrates, including metal, wood and stone.
In both clear and pigmented formulations, Dow Corning US-CF 2403 Resin can be used as a sole binder or in combination with organic resins.
Potential applications for Dow Corning US-CF 2403 Resin include coatings for ovens, wood-burning stoves and chemical processing units; industrial coatings where ambient cure is required but with low demands on flexibility; and stone coatings and glass coatings.
“What makes Dow Corning US-CF 2403 Resin especially useful is its high-temperature resistance coupled with room temperature cure,” said Jim Stange, Dow Corning’s North America Market Manager, Coatings. “It also can be used in other industrial coatings applications where flexibility is not a priority and an ambient cure is an advantage.”
