ASEAN Ceramics (11-13 Sept, Hall 101, BITEC, Bangkok) marks a big push by the UK manufacturers Mantec Group into the South East Asian and wider Asian markets.
Mantec has taken a stand in the central section of the exhibition and will be using this inaugural event, staged by Asian Exhibition Services, as a springboard to boost sales activity in the region.
The main products under the spotlight will be Xtract Filtration Systems™, Ultralite™ and Bullers™. The group’s sales and technical project managers will be on hand to discuss these leading systems for ceramic manufacturers and to answer questions from all the producers of sanitaryware, tableware, bricks, tiles, technical ceramics and general pottery that are expected to visit the show.
Xtract (www.xtractfiltrationsystems.com), the world’s leading zero waste system for glaze and slip recovery, is beginning to make an impact in this area, particularly for sanitaryware where the scope for material cost reduction is very substantial. Existing installations provide a convincing argument for take-up of the Xtract technology and just as Mantec put the finishing touches to its exhibition preparations an order for a complete system in China was confirmed. Full details and case histories on Xtract will be available.
Ultralite (www.mantectechnicalceramics.com/products/ceramic-insulation/ultralite) – the lightweight refractory aggregate used as a super-efficient kiln car insulator – has also already scored successes in Asia, most notably at this point with leading Indian sanitaryware brands. Its versatility and ease of handling make it an equally attractive prospect for any ceramic manufacturing sector and it is expected that particular interest will be shown by the many heavy clay producers in South East Asia, given the excellent references from recent Ultralite contracts involving state-of-the-art roof tile factories in Europe. A model of a kiln car set-up with Ultralite loose insulation fill will be shown on the stand.
The Bullers presentation will centre on Mantec’s globally renowned pyrometric device brands – Bullers Rings and Bullers Process Control Discs (www.mantectechnicalceramics.com/products/pyrometric-devices). Mantec’s proprietary technology and closely controlled manufacturing environment has meant that for decades factory managers have been able to use these accurate, reliable and cost effective devices to map the heat work in their systems – for all products on any cycle – and to get the best performance out of their kilns, furnaces and ovens. Actual rings and discs will be shown and visitors will be able to see exactly how these devices work and how simple the evaluation process is.
“This is the first time that Mantec has exhibited in Thailand,” said Global Sales Manager Adrian Wake, “and given recent feedback from existing and potential customers all around Asia we are confident of a successful show. It’s always extremely useful to be able to show the products and systems, to assess exactly how they fit with a customer’s current operation and to be able to run through case histories and technical specifications. This is an opportunity to step up our Asian business another gear.”
