Rmax Debuts R-TRAC High Velocity Hurricane Zone Pressure Equalized Rainscreen at Construct CSI Show

Rmax Operating, LLC of Dallas, Texas will introduce the "dry seal" R-TRAC HVHZ (High Velocity Hurricane Zone) system from Altech Panel Systems at the Construct CSI show for construction specifiers in Nashville, Tenn., September 25-27, 2013, booth #728.

"R-TRAC HVHZ is a Pressure Equalized Rainscreen (PER) featuring Rmax ECOMAXci polyisocyanurate (polyiso) insulation and alpolic composite material that meets new continuous insulation requirements with approval for all coastal regions," said Greg Fantin, Rmax vice president - marketing.

The new offering has Florida Building Code Approval (#FL16406), meets TAS 201, 202 and 203 up to 200 mph (ASTM E1886 and E1996), and has HVHZ approval with a "dry seal," which means there's no caulk in the joints to wear out. The system has been tested and listed to meet NFPA 285, ABAA Air Barrier Assembly criteria and ICC-ES Water-Resistive Barrier acceptance criteria.

Additionally, Rmax ECOMAXci polyiso insulation offers the highest R-value per inch of any comparable insulation option, achieving up to a 20.3 R-Value in a three-inch nominal thickness. And because ECOMAXci provides continuous insulation, thermal leaks associated with steel studs are eliminated, creating a more efficient design at a great economy.

"With current building codes changing, and few sensible options available to architects, builders and contractors in high-wind hurricane zone areas, Rmax believes that the Altech R-TRAC HVHZ system with ECOMAXci continuous insulation will become the pressure-equalized rainscreen of choice," said Fantin.

Since 1978, Rmax has been manufacturing commercial, industrial and residential polyiso insulations products, providing engineered solutions for enhanced energy efficiency. For more information on Rmax or its new ECOMAXci Wall Solution, visit www.rmax.com or call 1-800-527-0890.
