A new two-page white paper from ABB Totalflow explains the firm's chemical injection application for flowing wells, production lines, and pipelines.
Major modes covered include batch, continuous, and plunger lift with chemical. Using intelligent controls, the application enhances chemical injections based on well and line conditions rather than a timer.
In batch mode, the system closes the well when the flow rate drops. The pump run time is calculated to deliver the correct amount of chemical. In continuous, as the rate changes, more or less chemical is injected. Advanced control modes include scavenger, winterizer, scale inhibitor, and pipeline applications.
