Ambrell Ships Induction Heating System for Stress Relief of Steel Bars in Automated Manufacturing

Ambrell, a leading manufacturer of induction heating systems, has installed an EKOHEAT 65 kW/100 kHz induction heating system for stress relieving steel bars. The client was cold bending bars and then tempering them with an oven. The steel bar requires a 50 mm heat zone.

The client came to Ambrell looking to enhance their automated manufacturing process. The Ambrell Applications Lab ran a Lab Service Request (LSR) and determined that a 65 kW/100 kHz system would heat the steel bars to temperature within five seconds which would enable the client to increase production. Heating the bars with induction is also significantly more energy efficient.

The client moved forward with purchasing an Ambrell EKOHEAT 65 kW induction heating system along with an optical pyrometer, controller and eVIEW induction heating software. eVIEW will enable the client to monitor temperature and add quality control to its process thanks to constant monitoring and data logging.

Ambrell’s products are CE certified and manufactured in an ISO9001:2008 certified facility in Scottsville, NY USA. For additional details about Ambrell, call +1 585-889-9000 or visit www.ambrell.com.
