Sixense to Highlight MakeVR 3D Printing Solution at 3D Printer World Expo

Sixense, a global leader in motion tracking and 3D modeling, has confirmed its featured presence at the inaugural 3D Printer World Expo. The event will bring together leading suppliers, entrepreneurs, educators and artists, and cutting edge companies in the world of 3D printing.

At the event, Sixense will give attendees a comprehensive look at MakeVR, the most accessible and intuitive content creation solution for the 3D printing industry. This demonstration will include the first public showcase of MakeVR’s collaborative modeling features, allowing multiple users to model within the same environment simultaneously. The MakeVR Kickstarter campaign will launch immediately following the expo on February 5, 2014.

MakeVR bridges the void between the real and virtual worlds, allowing users to harness their full potential to create, share, buy, trade and print 3D models. The software, built from the ground up to operate with motion-enabled input devices, combines a professional-grade CAD engine with an intuitive two-handed interface that gives unprecedented ease of use, making content creation for 3D printing more accessible than ever.

“With MakeVR we’re enabling everyone to more easily and affordably create models in 3D. Coupled with the emergence of so many great new 3D printing solutions, this will catalyze the entire market,” said Amir Rubin, co-founder of Sixense. “3D Printer World Expo offers the perfect stage to showcase MakeVR, and we’re looking forward to feedback from the leaders in 3D printing industry at the show.”

“We’re thrilled to have a pioneering company like Sixense at 3D Printer World Expo, and very excited about Amir and his team debuting and demonstrating the collaborative modeling features of MakeVR,” said Jenny Bolton, President of Punchbowl Media Inc., producer of 3D Printer World Expo. “MakeVR is a game-changer because it makes 3D design less intimidating and more accessible. The 3D printing industry needs content, and MakeVR gives people without any training or experience in 3D modeling the ability to create 3D prints – and do so collaboratively with their friends and colleagues. This is an important development because it will attract new users to the world of 3D printing, driving wider consumer and prosumer adoption.”

Bolton added that it isn't enough to be able to download other people's objects and print them. The CAD learning curve must be eliminated because the vast majority of 3D printer users want to print their own designs. Most don't have the time, money or desire to learn complicated 3D modeling software, but they have ideas 3D printing can turn into reality. With MakeVR's more natural human-to-computer interface and simplified approach to modeling, it's easy to go from your brain to your 3D printer, according to Bolton.
