Goodfellow Sign Agreement With Sigma-Aldrich

Goodfellow, a leading supplier of metals and materials for research and industry, has signed an agreement with Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, a leading life science and high-technology company, to market and distribute Goodfellow's portfolio of materials worldwide.

Initially, the agreement broadens the availability of more than 10,000 of Goodfellow's products, including pure metals, alloys, ceramics and polymers, through Sigma-Aldrich’s Aldrich Materials Science initiative. The offer will expand within the coming months to include Goodfellow’s entire portfolio of 70,000 products, many of which are exclusive to Goodfellow.

Goodfellow's products will continue to be available directly through Goodfellow and their current partners, and Goodfellow will continue to provide technical consultation and support to all customers.

Stephen Aldersley, Managing Director of Goodfellow, believes that the new relationship with Sigma-Aldrich has the potential to benefit the global research community. Sigma-Aldrich is the international leader in providing materials to the research market. Through operations in nearly 40 countries, Sigma-Aldrich can provide researchers global access to our portfolio of products. Improved availability of metals, alloys, ceramics and materials in general to researchers worldwide can enable continued growth in very important research areas."

Citing the global commitment of Sigma-Aldrich to enable science that improves the quality of life, Bryce P. Nelson, Initiative Lead for Aldrich Materials Science, said, "The addition of the Goodfellow portfolio expands Sigma-Aldrich's already robust family of products for engineers and materials scientists, further promoting scientific innovation."

Under the terms of the agreement, Aldrich Materials Science will market and distribute the materials immediately in most geographies, while all products will be available globally beginning in April 2015.

Goodfellow is a leading supplier of metals, polymers, ceramics and other materials to meet the needs of science and industry worldwide. The company specialises in supplying small quantities (a few grammes to a few kilos) of metals and materials for research, prototype development and specialised manufacturing applications. Standard products can be found online at the comprehensive Goodfellow Catalogue (www.goodfellow.com).
