The Pittcon 2015 Program Committee is pleased to announce the deadline for two of its prestigious awards, the Pittsburgh Analytical Chemistry and Pittsburgh Conference Achievement, has been extended to May 9, 2014.These annual awards will be presented during Pittcon 2015 which will be held in New Orleans, March 8-12, 2015, at the Morial Convention Center.
The Pittsburgh Analytical Chemistry award was established in recognition of an individual’s significant contributions to the field of analytical chemistry including the introduction of a significant technique, theory or instrument or providing exceptional training or a fertile environment for progress in analytical chemistry.
The winner will receive a cash award and travel costs to Pittcon 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana and will be included as a speaker in Pittsburgh Analytical Chemistry Award Symposium in his/her honor.
The Pittsburgh Conference Achievement Award recognizes individuals for outstanding achievements in the fields of analytical chemistry and/or applied spectroscopy within 10 years after completion of their Ph. D. work. The award recipient will be invited to Pittcon and will be included as a speaker in the Pittsburgh Conference Achievement Award Symposium.
When asked about the significance of these awards, Hub MacDonald, 2015 program chair commented, "An important aspect of Pittcon has always been to recognize and honor scientists who have made outstanding contributions to analytical chemistry and applied spectroscopy."
