FOBA's Innovative Laser Marking Solutions will be Showcased at IMTS

FOBA, international market and technology leader in the product identification and direct part marking market, presents leading developments for laser marking at IMTS. From September 08th through 13th, FOBA will showcase: innovative and high-precision system, machine and vision solutions for laser marking that meet the challenging identification needs of all manufacturing industries, e.g. automotive, medical, plastics processing and electronic industries.

Identification and traceability tasks are challenging manufacturers across all industries: The number of products which have to be marked increases continuously, marking contents are getting more complex, devices and parts smaller and production lines need to be more efficient than ever.

The precise and efficient laser marking workstations FOBA M1000 and M2000 which will be displayed at IMTS handle the most demanding marking tasks and are capable of marking the new UDI (Unique Device Identifier) and GS1 DataMatrix codes used to identify devices.  The core of FOBA’s marking solutions: a reliable high-precision marking laser system combined with the vision alignment system IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning).

Directly integrated in FOBA’s systems, IMP provides much more than just a high-quality marking solution: a closed-loop process which includes the marking, pre- and post-mark verification, Optical Character Verification (OCV) as well as 1D and 2D code validation, a solution unique to the market. The three step closed-loop marking process HELP (Holistic Enhanced Laser Process) ensures process reliability before and after laser marking and easy compliance with regulations regarding traceability and identification. Thus substantially contributes to improved product quality and increased production efficiency.

Innovative identification solutions like the vision system IMP and application cases like high-speed automated rotary banding will be shown during live demos at IMTS.

IMTS Conference speech: How IMP enables efficient production processes

During his presentation about “How lasers can benefit medical part marking” at IMTS Conference, FOBA’s product manager Dr. Benayad-Cherif will illustrate the closed-loop production process and explain how manufacturers, e.g. medical device producers, can benefit from the use of the HELP technology.
