Vietnamese PVC Manufacturer Phu My Plastics Officially Opened

Vietnamese, Phu My Plastics & Chemicals Company Ltd (PMPC), a joint venture between Petronas, Petrovietnam and Tramatsuco was officially opened today.

Malaysian-based Petaronas owns a 50% stake in the joint venture, while Petrovietnam and Tramatsuco own 43% and 7% respectively. The joint venture partners spent US$70 million on establishing PMPC.

PMPC is a PVC manufacturing facility with production capacity of 100,000 metric tons per annum, although expansion to increase this figure to 200,000 tons per annum is envisaged in the near future. It will produce various grades of PVC resins used in the manufacture of various polymeric products.

PMPC which was completed on schedule is located within the petrochemical area of Ba Ria, in the Vung Tau province, which is approximately 85km south east of Ho Chi Minh City.
