R.D. Abbott Company, Inc. (RDA) has signed a new distribution agreement with Dow Corning Corporation to distribute Dow Corning®medical device elastomers to manufacturers and fabricators in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Dow Corning’s healthcaresilicone elastomers are suitable for a wide variety of Type 1, 2, and 3 medical device applications, including: respiratory care, cardiovascular systems, infusion systems, diabetes care, renal care, surgical tools, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical processing and delivery.
The addition of Dow Corning®medical device elastomers will further leverage RDA’s ability to provide a broad range of elastomeric products and in-house laboratory services to the growing market of healthcare device manufacturers and fabricatorsthroughout North America. RDA’s technical team specializes in formulation development and optimization, tooling and process design assistance, and product characterization and modification solutions.
Specifically, this agreement includes Dow Corning® Biomedical Grade, Class VI, and QP1 GradeHigh Consistency Rubber (HCR) and Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) materials. RDA also supplies healthcare grades of butyl and millable urethane polymers, as well as mold release products.
