Creaform’s Pipecheck Pipeline Assessment Software Now Compatible with Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Devices

Creaform, worldwide leader in portable 3D measurement solutions and engineering services, announced today the release of Pipecheck 3.2, which brings together NDT and NDE system capabilities, such as 3D scan data and ultrasonic testing (UT) into its intuitive and powerful pipeline integrity assessment software platform.

Compliant with the ASME B31G and B31.8 industry standards, Pipecheck is the only solution to this day to enable the identification of any potential issues on both the inner and outer linings of pipes, whether they be corrosion, dents or gouges in the metal. Pipecheck now introduces true wall thickness assessment analysis based on the combination of various integrity assessment technologies.

The idea behind Pipecheck 3.2 is to combine the strengths of the best NDT equipment into a single software to get the most accurate and realistic damage evaluation of the pipeline—both inside and outside.

Other enhancements of this new release include:

  • Edit scan in real time: Improve workflows by saving time during data reconstruction for increased field efficiency.
  • Section tools: Use this tool to easily clean artefacts that do not need to be analyzed, such as a flanges, welds, valves, etc.
  • Software speed and performances enhanced: Several improvements were made to increase the precision and reliability of the inspection results.

Combined with the benefits of Creaform’s metrology-grade 3D scanners, the software contributes to reducing potential human errors and providing reliability that is beyond current regulatory requirements.

Pipecheck is the safest and fastest solution for pipeline integrity assessment on the market. By opening Pipecheck to other assessment solutions, NDT service companies and pipeline engineers can get more secure and traceable analyses from which they can extract more data to ensure the safest assessment there is. It is the first step to a new generation of pipeline management solutions.
