DuPont Sign Exclusive Zircon Purchasing Rights Contract

DuPont Titanium Technologies have just signed an agreement with Bemax Resources which gives them exclusive purchasing rights to zircon derived from Bemax’s Ginkgo deposit in the Pooncarie Mineral Sands Project in Australia.

DuPont is the worlds largest zircon producer in the US. The extra capacity made available through the Bemax agreement will allow them to cement their position in the global zircon market.

The formalisation of the zircon contract with DuPont have given the project financial stability as they have now sold 90% of the tonnage output of mineral sands for the Project, which represents 95% of the total value of the Project for the first 5 years.

Other minerals produced from the Ginkgo deposit include ilmenite, rutile and leucoxene which have been sold to DuPont and National Titanium Dioxide, with more contracts currently being negotiated.
