A model making and prototyping company based in Letchworth has revealed a significant addition to its commercial capabilities by buying a high-speed machine, which is set to boost production capacity.
Ogle Models and Prototypes has invested £70,000 into the installation of a Fanuc Alpha D21LiA5 machine. The piece of equipment can machine harder materials such as steel, with a high-finish, to production quality.
Dave Bennion, marketing and sales director at Ogle, said: “This latest addition to our existing fleet of state-of-the-art technologies will deliver faster response times for complex client requirements.
“The equipment is ideal for small or intricate parts which are often required for the medical industry. It will speed up production without compromising the quality of the prototypes that Ogle has become well known for within the industry.”
The company work with the automotive sector producing items such as flappy paddles and complex switch and control parts, and believe this piece of equipment will fulfill the industries future requirements for speed and high quality.
The Fanuc Alpha D21LiA5 is a high-speed milling, drilling and tapping CNC machine with specialist thermal displacement technology to prevent overheating and reduce cycle times.
Parts can be machined precisely using robust and production-specification materials. The fourth axis works to increase through-put productivity, accuracy and finishing.
