DSM and CNI Form Alliance to Develop Buckytube Enhanced Materials

DSM and Carbon Nanotechnologies Inc. have agreed to form an alliance with the purpose of developing high performance materials using single-walled carbon nanotubes.

Single-walled carbon nanotubes are also known as buckytubes. These materials which consist solely of carbon, possess unique properties.

DSM who already manufacture polymers and fibres will look to incorporating the buckytubes to improve properties such as strength, stiffness, abrasion and wear resistance and energy absorption.
