For 2019, the Sixth International Symposium Frontiers in Polymer Science offers a new format of three parallel sessions with invited and contributed talks in addition to 30 high-level plenary and featured speakers and large poster sessions.
Lecture on Isosorbide
Nicolas JACQUEL, Roquette Polycondensation laboratory manager, will give a lecture during the Symposium C "Polymer technology for solving societal challenges":
How can Isosorbide bring new valuable functionalities to polyesters and polycarbonates? - Wednesday 8 May 2019 - 2:20 pm to 2:40 pm
Properties and Applications of Isosorbide
Isosorbide or 1,4-3,6 dianhydrohexitol, derivated from starch and more precisely from sorbitol, is one of the chemical intermediates of interest in the field of thermoplastic materials and for curable resins application.
POLYSORB® Isosorbide is a sustainable and non-toxic functional molecule, REACH approved. Its main applications are:
- Aliphatic Polyesters oligomers
- Thermoplastic polyurethanes
- Aromatic polyesters
- Polycarbonates
Isosorbide increases the glass transition temperature, and presents significantly increased properties like mechanical strength, heat resistance and optical properties.
Nicolas JACQUEL will be happy to share his expertise and to discuss with you. Please send an email to [email protected] to plan a meeting.
