A series of architectural projects featuring laminated glass railings enhanced with DuPont™ SentryGlas® Plus, DuPont™ SentryGlas® Expressions™ and DuPont™ Butacite® recently were revealed across the globe. Examples include a glass stairway at Blue Heaven, the new Radisson SAS Hotel in Frankfurt, Germany, and freestanding laminated glass stairs with a curved laminated glass banister at the Ford Dealers’ Association building in Mexico City.
Blue Heaven’s lobby centerpiece includes a transparent glass stairway, designed by Tihany Design of New York. Rainbow-like stripes were melded into the stairway’s glass railings through the use of DuPont™ SentryGlas® Expressions™ technology.
Additionally, Mexico City’s Architectura Prodesarrollo architectural firm designed a freestanding laminated glass stairway and curved laminated glass railing, both incorporating DuPont™ Butacite®, to form an interior design centerpiece at the Ford Dealers’ Association building.
Other applications featuring DuPont glass interlayer solutions are found at the Changi Airport in Singapore; Petco Park Stadium in San Diego, California; and the Shanghai Gubei apartment complex in Shanghai.
“Whatever the end use, and wherever the project is in the world, DuPont can provide the technical and design support as well as the innovative interlayer solutions to enable architects and designers to combine outstanding performance with aesthetic appeal,†said Antonella Arcari, global segment leader, DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions.
