Alcan Offer to Buy Out Strongpack

Following Alcan’s acquisition of VAW Flexible Packaging from Norsk Hydro. The purchase included shares in a number of companies throughout Europe and Asia.

As a result of the transaction, Alcan have acquired a 63.37% holding in Thai packaging manufacturer Strongpack. Thai regulations state that Alcan must make a tender offer to acquire all outstanding shares in Strongpack.

Consequently, a letter is expected to be sent out to shareholders in the next week offering them THB 41.50 per share (or US$0.978 per share).
