From November 12 to 14, 2024, the highly anticipated sps trade fair in Nuremberg will once again showcase the latest advancements in the automation industry. The event reflects the technological progress and digital transformation that have shaped the industrial landscape in recent years. By uniting automation and IT, the fair promises meaningful exchanges among industry leaders. Dunkermotoren and MAE, two renowned brands under AMETEK, will be on display at Hall 4-540, presenting cutting-edge solutions for the future.
Dunkermotoren is debuting its new STL Line at the sps, designed primarily for the food and beverage sector. These motors feature stainless steel housings that are chemically resistant to aggressive cleaning agents and boast an IP69K protection rating. As with all Dunkermotoren products, the new STL line integrates seamlessly into the company’s modular system, offering a high-quality, high-performance solution with durable DC servo motors.
Additionally, Dunkermotoren is expanding its BLDC motor portfolio with the BGA 22. This motor comes with matching gearbox PLG22HT, brake E22, and encoder RE22 – all components feature a 22 mm outer diameter. It can be driven by the external, compact 4- quadrant controller BGE5510 dPro, built on the MCP platform. With continuous output power of up to 25 W and nominal speeds reaching 13,160 rpm, this motor is perfect for fast, precise applications.
The BG 42 brushless motor from Dunkermotoren, a long-established solution across various industries, now comes with an additional integrated controller. The new BG 42 dGo stands out for its high performance at a highly competitive price. This fully functional 4-quadrant controller can be pre-configured at the factory and easily controlled through its inputs.
With the controller integrated into the motor housing and optimized operating parameters, this setup allows for a highly efficient drive that saves valuable energy and significantly extends the runtime of battery-powered devices. The BG 42 dGo offers an exceptionally cost-effective drive concept, customizable for a wide range of applications.
Dunkermotoren's BGE 8060 dPro is a compact 4-quadrant controller for precise control of both brushless and brushed DC motors, delivering continuous power of 1800 W. With an impressive 60 A continuous current and 175 A peak current, it surpasses its predecessor and provides ample power for motors such as the BG 95 dCore and BG 75 dCore, as well as any application requiring currents from 10 A up to 72 A. Thanks to its free programmability (C), the BGE 8060 dPro is highly adaptable, while the built-in Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function ensures maximum protection. It also supports encoders and brakes, including the newly supported SSI encoder AE38 for more precise position control. This controller is based on Dunkermotoren’s reliable MCP technology and is the ideal solution for demanding drive applications where power, safety, and flexibility are key.
Both companies, Dunkermotoren’s and MAE, are focusing on the trend of sourcing in Europe. MAE is fully committed to this trend, producing its products exclusively in Europe and increasingly relying on a local supplier base to improve delivery times and shield customers from the risks of supply chain disruptions. Combined with brakes, encoders, gearboxes, and electronics, MAE’s stepper motor portfolio can be configured into flexible drive solutions for various applications. At the sps, MAE will showcase its new integrated electronic solutions featuring industrial M12 connectors, available with both CANopen and EtherCAT interfaces in Nema 17, Nema 23, and Nema 34 sizes.
