Alcan has officially opened its new US$42.6 million packaging facility in Reidsville Industrial Park, North Carolina, U.S.A. following its investment decision in July 2005. The new plant, called Alcan Packaging North Carolina, employs 170 people and produces printed packaging, including folding cartons and labels, for key customers in Alcan Packaging’s global tobacco business.
“This new state-of-the art facility is important to Alcan’s strategy of supplying its global tobacco customers with reliable, cost-efficient, high quality packaging materials,” said Ralf Wunderlich, President, Alcan Packaging Global Tobacco. “The pace of planning and project implementation clearly demonstrates Alcan’s ability to respond rapidly to its customers’ demands and requirements, and I am confident that we will continue to build on this successful approach in the future,” he added.
