ThyssenKrupp Complete €33m Plant Upgrade

ThyseenKrupp have completed their 2 year, 33 million Euro modernisation of their Dortmund cold rolling mill.

The work was carried out while the plant continued plant continued to run and resulted in only 34 lost days of production throughout the 2 year project.

Work involved modernisation of the pickling line and cold rolling mills, as well as construction of a new fully continuous exit section with two coilers and a new coil transfer section.

The upgrades to this plant bring it up to the same standard as ThyssenKrupp’s Duisburg plant, which is the world’s most advanced cold rolling mill. Both are capable of providing high surface quality sheet for the automobile industry.
