Aussie Taxis to Benefit from Glare Stomper Technology

Glare Stomper (So. California based maker of glare reducing shades and hoods), announced today it will provide SmartMove Taxi (Australia) with a custom solution for increasing visibility on the newest generation of electronic dispatch displays.

SmartMove provides GPS enabled data terminals to progressive transportation companies in Australia. Primarily used in Taxi's, where current routing and dispatch information needs to be visible to the driver, SmartMove wanted to set their product apart. Even the most sophisticated electronic displays (especially touch-screens) suffer from contrast degradation or 'wash-out' on bright days. Drivers must struggle with distracting reflections caused by the glaring Australian sun. "By mating Glare-Stomper sun blocking shades with the data terminal, an unobstructed view of critical data is always available to the driver, regardless of where the sun is located on the horizon".

SmartMove's logo is prominently displayed on the Sun Shade as well. "When attached to the touch-screen terminal, the shade (visible from outside the vehicle) becomes a integral part of SmartMove's product branding".

"We were delighted to provide our solution for better visibility on these units," stated Glare-Stomper representative Dave Reichert. "It's a 'hand meets glove' situation where 'high-tech' and 'simple solution' combine to create a lot of value added."
