Pentaxia was founded in 2008 by Stephen Ollier, Adam Norris & John Norris with a focus to supply the UK composite industry and motorsport teams with 5-axis machined patterns. The business was based in a small industrial unit, centrally located in Derby.
Machining DNA
5-axis machining runs in Pentaxia’s DNA and still acts as a major business capability, supporting our advanced composites division. With four 5-axis machines on-site we can ensure we’ve extensive capacity at all times. In addition, we also have 3-axis machining resources with two HAAS VM3 machines.
Advanced Composite Engineering
In 2011, the business moved into advanced composites manufacturing, driven by a fast developing customer demand towards a “turnkey” composite supply approach. It was at this stage we purchased our first autoclave and took the leap into advanced composite production. We currently operate four high specification autoclaves.
Continual Investment, Business Growth and “family” Ownership
As the Pentaxia business has grown, so have our capabilities. The business is privately owned, and we’re proud to be family run, this enables a dynamic approach to our investment strategy, expansion and growth. If we need it and can demonstrate a business case, we typically invest (often ahead of forthcoming requirements).
Business growth has led us into many new, diverse engineering sectors and as we’ve grown we’ve carved a strong reputation specifically in aerospace (AS9100 accredited), luxury automotive, defence and high technology/bespoke advanced composite tooling and composite manufacturing.
