Dyson began operations in 1884, when Joseph Dyson formed a company to produce forgings for various industries in Cleveland, Ohio. Since then, Dyson has become a leader in high quality large fastening products. Our work can be found in most large construction projects.
Forging: Cold shears, upsetters, pneumatic forging hammers, pneumatic presses, hydraulic forging presses, U-Bolt machines, bulldozers (benders), torching machines and parts formers. All forgings are produced hot. Induction and gas heat are used. Tooling is produced at Dyson.
Machining: CNC turning & machining centers, turret & engine lathes, milling machines, drill presses, deep hole drilling, broaching machines, thread rolling, Landis threaders, production saws and high speed nut tappers. We also work with approved vendors for additional capabilities.
Heat Treat: Non-atmospheric heat treat with water & oil quench. Processes include normalizing, annealing, stress relieving, drawing, quench & temper, solution anneal, carbide solution treating and age hardening. Heat treat logs are available. Additional processes are available.
Inspection: Full dimensional including ring & plug gages (system 21), tri-roll & bi-point (system 22), gage calibration, optical comparitors, magnetic particle, ultrasonic & radiographic, hardness, machined & full sized tensiles, decarb, chemistry analysis, micro & macro etch and coating thickness. Full certifications and dimensional data sheets are available upon request.
