Throughout the packaging industry, Testometric machines are employed to perform a variety of tests on corrugated boards to international standards such as ASTM, ISO, BS, DIN, SCAN, and TAPPI. Testometric offers a complete range of specialized fixtures together with dedicated software that includes all relevant calculations.

FCT
The resistance of flutes to compressive forces is gauged by flat crush tests (FCTs). Testometric’s parallel platen fixtures can be used to achieve an accurate evaluation, thanks to their integral linear bearings that provide the perfect alignment essential to this type of test.

ECT
Edgeways strength of the finished board is assessed by performing edge crush tests. The fixture provided can perfectly hold the specimens in a vertical way, while the specimens are compressed with the parallel platen set.
CCT
Concora crush tests are carried out to evaluate the performance of fluting materials. While the parallel platen set compresses the fluted specimens, the fixture provided holds them perfectly in a vertical fashion.
RCT
The rigidity of paper fluting and lining are assessed by performing ring crush tests. The required fixture includes a range of slotted discs in order to suit different paper weights. The slotted discs hold the specimen in a perfect circular form while they are compressed by the parallel platen set.
PAT
Pin adhesion tests are performed to measure the bond between the linear board and fluted medium. The unique fixture is employed in tandem with the platen set and this fixture applies a separation force through a set of pins spaced on the same pitch as the flutes.
BEND
The FB4/8 fixture is used to conduct bend tests, which help gauge the bending stiffness in corrugated boards and other similar products. Sometimes, a displacement transducer is used to determine true center point deflection.
