Introduction
Aluminium / Aluminum alloys have high electrical conductivity and
strong corrosion resistance characteristics. These alloys are good
low-temperature alloys. They gain strength when exposed to subzero
temperatures and lose strength when exposed to high temperatures.
Aluminum alloys are sensitive to high temperatures ranging between 200
and 250°C (392 and 482°F).
The following datasheet provides an overview of Aluminium / Aluminum
7475 alloy.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Cold Working
Conventional methods are used to readily cold work Aluminium /
Aluminum 7475 alloy in the annealed condition.
Welding
Aluminium / Aluminum 7475 alloy is not usually welded.
Forming
Aluminium / Aluminum 7475 alloy can be formed using conventional
methods. This alloy can be easily formed in the annealed condition than
in the heat treated condition in which the alloy has more spring back
because of its strength.
Machinability
Aluminium / Aluminum 7475 alloy has good machining characteristics
in the annealed condition. Oil base lubricants can be used during the
machining operations of this alloy.
Heat Treatment
Aluminium / Aluminum 7475 alloy can be heat treated.
Applications
Aluminium / Aluminum 7475 alloy can be used in shell casings,
aircrafts, and many other structures.
